In a nutshell, the Mission and Vision of this graphic design group, is to pool resources, attract larger/more influential clients, and keep it all local to the client (when possible). If an agent of Oregon Graphic Design Network both finds a client, and completes the contract, they're intitled to keep the entire Intake/Service Plan fee.
As a co-op, and as with any business, there are always startup fees involved. That being said, the fees involved for getting started are minimal, and are intended only for the use of promoting OUR business, Oregon Graphic Design Co-Op. The membership fee for individuals is $89 annually, and $199 annually for small business graphic design firms/agencies (with up to 5 full or part-time employees). There is an extra $49 Membership Fee per each additional employee (over 5). Refunds may be requested up to 30 days after signing up or renewing your membership. (For more information on membership fees and how they are put to work for you, please see our FAQ section.)
As a Founding Member, the Annual Membership Fee is reduced to $49. As a Founding Member though, you may be expected to contribute to the marketing and advertising costs associated with generating sales and leads (clients/client contracts/projects). As a secondary function of being a Founding Member, you may be asked to help in finding and retaining new graphic designers to join Oregon Graphic Design's network.
Founding Members will be intitled to profit sharing, when they bring in a new graphic designer, team, or small graphic design boutique. Founding members are entitled to keep 80% of the Member Intake fee, and 20% will go to the Principle. This 20% goes to operating costs, such as social media marketing and related business expenses.
As a Founding Member, you'll get an equal vote in any conversation regarding business dealings that may impact the profitability of Oregon Graphic Design. While every Founding Member will have an equal vote, the Founding Principal Member will be the tie-breaker, or final voice on key decisions that may affect the profitability or direction of Oregon Graphic Design Network.
(For more information on membership fees and how they are put to work for you, please see our FAQ section.)
In order for this to work for all of us, leads have to be found, sales made, and marketing & advertising is the way to do that. This of course, costs money. Membership fees help cover that cost and, in turn, will help all of us find qualified leads, generate sales, and keep all of us in business. We take this task seriously, and we promise to only work in all of our best interests. As a Founding Member, you may be expected to contribute to these costs (on a case by case basis).
The only expectation we have of any/all of our partners is to be fair, open, and honest about leads and sales generated through Oregon Graphic Design Network. As the primary stake-holder, I promise the same; to be fair, open, and honest. At anytime, you may request information regarding operations, to see first hand how membership fees are being spent, and other data pertinent to the growth and success of our venture. It is my intent to share this data, annually, so that every member can benefit from peace of mind, and be assured our our joint success.
Oregon Graphic Design is meant to be a safe place for all that join our co-op. As a member, your interactions with other members, business partners, and clients should always focus on mindfulness and diversity. Diversity in thought, as well as diversity in race and diversity in persons of every identity are all part of this standard. Equity and inclusion should be your guiding light when faced with any challenge.
We understand that not every client is ideal, and sometimes a good working bond just can't be made. As a member of Oregon Graphic Design, our goal is to provide you with clients that will have already formed a bond with you, through our Partnership tab above. Hopefully, the client will have already looked at your profile and made the decision to work with you. Also, by us getting to know each other, I can (ideally) pre-screen clients that I think would be a good match for your skills, personality, quirks, and the like. In any event, you are not expected to work with clients that you just can't seem to win over, no matter your approach or your efforts. When this happens, you are expected to get me involved in the conversation, so that I may guide the client into working with another member - if at all possible, or to dissolve the contract. As every situation is different, rest assure that you will not be expected to work under duress; we simply ask you to help find the right graphic designer, and turn a bad situation into a good one - for both the client and us.
